Itinerary
Afternoon: Marrakech to Agafay Desert
Depart from your Marrakech accommodation in the afternoon, around 3:00 PM. The drive to Agafay Desert takes about 40 minutes, passing through rural landscapes and small villages.
Agafay Desert: Arrive in this stone desert that offers a desert experience close to Marrakech. Unlike the sandy Sahara, Agafay features rocky terrain and lunar-like landscapes with views of the Atlas Mountains in the distance.
Optional Activities: Depending on your interests and what you arrange, activities might include quad biking, camel rides, or simply walking around the desert landscape. These activities are typically arranged separately and are not included in the basic transport service.
Evening: Sunset and Dinner
Sunset: Find a good spot to watch the sun set over the desert. The changing light on the rocks and distant mountains creates beautiful photo opportunities. The temperature drops as evening approaches, making it comfortable to be outside.
Dinner: Many desert camps and restaurants in Agafay offer traditional Moroccan dinner experiences. If you’ve booked dinner at a specific location, your driver will take you there. Typical dinner settings include outdoor seating with traditional decor, and meals usually feature tagine, couscous, and salads.
Entertainment: Some venues offer evening entertainment such as traditional music performances or cultural shows. This varies by location and should be arranged in advance with your chosen venue.
Return to Marrakech
After dinner and entertainment, return to Marrakech. The drive back takes about 40 minutes. Arrive at your accommodation by late evening, typically between 10:00-11:00 PM.

Agafay vs Sahara: Agafay is a stone desert, not a sand desert like the Sahara. It offers a desert atmosphere much closer to Marrakech, making it perfect for those with limited time.
